Tona grew up in the suburbs of Munich, where she developed her fascination for traditional silhouettes and Bavarian costume. From an early age she was drawn to garments with history behind them and to women who take up space and do things on their own terms. With 15 she started sewing, launched the label a couple of years later, and went on to study fashion at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. After graduating she relaunched the brand, and two years later it's still growing - a small team, designing for artists and people who find themselves in the work.
